Dalian Wanda Group, the Chinese conglomerate, has acquired Legendary Entertainment for as much as $3.5 billion.
At a signing ceremony in Beijing, Wanda announced it had signed an agreement to buy a majority stake in the Burbank-based production company, best known for the "Dark Knight" and "Hangover" movies.
The deal represents the largest acquisition to date of a U.S. production company by a Chinese firm.
