Columbus Short, a lead actor on the hit television show "Scandal," was arrested Wednesday on a felony battery charge with serious bodily injury, prosecutors said.
Short, who plays attorney Harrison Wright on the ABC series, is accused of knocking a man out during a dispute at a Los Angeles, California, restaurant on March 15, according to a statement from the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.
A felony complaint for Short's arrest warrant was filed Tuesday. Short was booked by the Claremont Police Department and released Wednesday after posting a $50,000 bail.
A representative for the 31-year-old actor could not be immediately reached.
If convicted, Short faces up to four years in state prison.
