to Remember and Honor Members of United States Armed Forces

In special recognition of the men and women who serve in our armed forces, the City of West Hollywood will hold a Veterans' Day ceremony on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Holloway Park and Veterans' Memorial at the intersection of Holloway Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood. The ceremony will honor members of the United States Armed Forces who have served and are serving the country. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

"I have first hand knowledge of war and the sacrifices made by our men and woman in uniform," said West Hollywood Councilmember Sal Guarriello. "We shouldn't forget those who have fought to make America and the world a better place. Please join us as we honor and salute our veterans," he continued.

Special guest speakers will include U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Shatynski, Assemblymember Mike Feuer and members of the West Hollywood City Council. A United States Air Force jet fly-by salute will also take place. Public parking will be available at the Kings Road parking structure located at 8383 Santa Monica Boulevard.

For more information, please contact Donna Saur, Deputy to Councilmember Sal Guarriello, at (323) 848-6460. For the deaf and hard of hearing, please call (323) 848-6496.
